The bio

Josh Janssen is a Melbourne-based documentary filmmaker and the founder of Full Stack Films, a production company specialising in human-centred storytelling across documentaries, branded content and video podcasts, which he runs with producer Breana Phillips. With more than 20 years' experience in film and video, he works across the whole process: development, directing, cinematography, editing and distribution strategy. He studied Film & TV at the Victorian College of the Arts and co-hosts The Daily Talk Show with long-time collaborator Tommy Jackett. In Guns We Trust (2026 documentary) is his first feature documentary: two Australians, cameras and a rule of no side, no agenda, just conversations. It is free on YouTube from 22 October 2026.

The real one

Right. That's the version that goes in the press kit. This is me.

I'm Josh. I direct and edit, and I'll pick up the camera when the shoot needs it. Twenty-odd years in, I still haven't picked one job, and I've stopped apologising for it.

I've always been early to things. I was listening to podcasts in 2004 and recording my own from my bedroom around 2006, long before anyone called it content. I still love technology more than is strictly useful. Give me a clunky workflow and an afternoon and I'll build something to fix it, lately with a lot of help from AI. Most nights end in DaVinci Resolve, moving a cut four frames and calling it progress.

I spent weeks on the road across America asking people about guns. It taught me what podcasting taught me first: people will tell you almost anything if you stop talking.

So if you've got a story, or just a good question, write to me. I'll listen.
